Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, another enemy agent, who operated in Kirovohrad region, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. On russia’s orders, he attempted to install a GPS tracker on a special vehicle accompanying Ukrainian Armed Forces convoys.

With the help of a hidden ‘beacon’, the ruscists hoped to track the movement of Ukrainian troops towards the front line in real time.

The enemy accomplice turned out to be a 20-year-old resident of Kyiv region, recruited by russian special services.

He came to occupiers’ attention when he was looking for easy money on Telegram channels.

After recruitment, the agent was sent to Kirovohrad region to track the locations of the Defence Forces’ convoys.

The perpetrator then deceived a local minor into participating in sabotage activities by promising him quick money.

In return, the teenager had to sneak up to a special Armed Forces vehicle at night and install a GPS tracker on it.

The SSU uncovered the enemy’s plan at an early stage and detained the perpetrator in February this year.

The investigation also documented that the agent monitored the geolocations of checkpoints and buildings of Territorial Recruitment Centers on orders from his handler.

Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kirovohrad region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
