Following SSU investigations, three enemy agents sentenced to prison for adjusting russian strikes on Chernihiv and Donetsk regions

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, three enemy agents, who adjusted the aggressor’s fire on northern and eastern Ukraine, have been convicted to prison.

The SSU detained them in 2024.

Following the Service’s investigation, two of the perpetrators received 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. They were part of russian intelligence networks and were collecting data on Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

One of them is a 52-year-old resident of Pokrovsk district who worked for the russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’) through his acquaintance, a ‘liaison’ from the temporarily occupied territory of the region.

On enemy orders, he walked in the frontline area and recorded the coordinates of strongholds and firing positions of our defenders.

The second traitor is a 28-year-old student from Chernihiv, who provided the FSB with the routes of Ukrainian armoured vehicles moving towards the eastern front.

Another convicted individual is a 49-year-old resident of Myrnohrad. He was awaiting a complete occupation of Donetsk region and transmitted the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a russian chatbot.

Given his cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced him to 9 years in prison.

The perpetrators were found guilty of crimes under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
  • 114-2.3 (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
