Following SSU investigation, another three traitors who fought against Ukraine on eastern front sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, three traitors who fought against the Defense Forces in Donetsk region have been sentenced to prison.
Ukrainian defenders captured them as the only survivors of the battles near Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka in 2024.
The court has now convicted the militants to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation established that the men had previously lived in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk oblast and voluntarily joined russia’s Southern military district in early 2022.
Two of them joined the 91st rifle regiment as riflemen. After a short training period, one of them was deployed to the left bank of Kherson region to serve at checkpoints and build fortifications for the occupiers.
Later, he received an order to storm the villages of Staromlynivka and Mykilske in Donetsk oblast.
Another individual helped the invaders attack the AFU positions near Konstantynopil and Zelenivka village in Volnovakha and Pokrovsk districts.
The third convicted individual was mobilized into russia’s 5th separate motorized rifle brigade. He guarded the routes of russian military convoys on bridge crossings on the left bank of Kherson region.
He was later sent to break through on Pokrovsk direction, where he was captured after Ukrainian defenders completely destroyed his unit.
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1, 111.2 (high treason);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration).
The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
