Following SSU investigation, local council member from Khmelnytskyi region, her son and daughter sentenced to 15 years in prison for working for FSB
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, members of an FSB agent group, which the SSU exposed in June 2024 for adjusting enemy strikes on Khmelnytskyi region, have been convicted to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The cell included a local council member and her two children: a 43-year-old son and a 38-year-old daughter.
According to the SSU Counterintelligence, they adjusted missile and drone attacks on the western region of Ukraine. To evade Ukrainian air defences, the agents recorded combat positions and routes of mobile air defence groups.
The occupiers were also interested in the locations of large concentrations of military personnel, equipment and weapons depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To gather intelligence, the agents drove around the area in their car under the cover of family trips.
The mother and daughter covertly photographed military installations, while the son made marks on Google Maps.
The SSU Counterintelligence identified the traitors at an early stage, documented their crimes, and detained them when they were spying near a Ukrainian defenders’ base.
According to the investigation, the now former council member was recruited by russia’s federal security service over a year ago. She came to the aggressor’s attention after posting pro-kremlin comments on Odnoklassniki.
After recruitment, she brought her children into cooperation with the enemy, and they continued to carry out FSB’s orders together.
Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the three accused perpetrators guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Khmelnytskyi region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
