Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court convicted a rector of a church in Vinnytsia diocese of moscow patriarchate’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who justified russia’s war against Ukraine.

During his sermons and conversations with the faithful, the archpriest praised the head of the kremlin and glorified russian troops trying to occupy our country.

The cleric expressed hope for the capture of Vinnytsia region and other regions of central Ukraine.

The SSU documented the archpriest’s crimes and in August this year notified him of suspicion.

The examinations initiated by the SSU confirmed the facts of his information and subversive activities against Ukraine.

Taking into account his cooperation with the investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 436-2.2, 436-2.3 of the CCU (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants) and sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
