Following SSU’s investigation, party of regions members heading Starobilsk district occupation administration face 15 years behind bars

The SSU has collected irrefutable evidence on another three traitors who collaborate with the enemy in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region.

The enemy accomplices are three representatives of the party of regions, who until 2014 had been the head and the deputy head of Starobilsk District State Administration and Starobilsk mayor.

At the beginning of russia’s full-scale aggression, they supported invaders and offered their assistance in the war against Ukraine.

For this, they were appointed to head the ‘LNR Starobelsk district administration’ established by occupiers.

In their ‘positions’, the collaborators fulfill moscow’s tasks to spread the kremlin regime and suppress resistance in the area.

The investigation established that the suspects were actively involved in setting up new occupation entities in the captured district.

These ‘officials’ organized ‘opening’ of a russian-controlled ‘customs post’ and a local unit of the ‘LNR ministry of interior’ in Starobilsk.

On the ‘day of russia’ - May 12 last year, the collaborators took part in raising the flags of the aggressor state and the ‘LNR’ terrorist organization on Starobilsk central square.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the ‘officials’ of suspicion of committing crimes under the Articles of the CCU:

  • 28.3, 111-1.6 (conducting information activities in cooperation with the aggressor state and its occupation administration aimed at supporting the aggressor state, its occupation administration or armed groups, committed in an organized group);
  • 111-1.5 (voluntary occupation by a citizen of Ukraine of a position related to performing organizational, administrative or administrative and economic functions in illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory, including in occupation administrations).

The indictments have been sent to court. The suspects have been declared wanted.

They are facing up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The SSU is acting to bring the collaborators to justice.

The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of Luhansk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
