Following SSU investigation, traitor who leaked military train routes in Dnipropetrovsk region to russia sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, an FSB agent detained by the SSU in December 2024 in Dnipropetrovsk oblast has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation established that he had been spying on Ukrainian Armed Forces trains in the frontline region.
To do this, the perpetrator installed hidden video cameras with remote access for russia’s federal security service near local Ukrzaliznytsia stations.
To disguise the video devices, the traitor installed them on trees and regularly changed power banks to ensure uninterrupted online broadcasting.
In this way, the enemy tracked the number, directions of movement and cargoes of the Defence Forces rolling stock.
The ruscists also hoped to use the intelligence to track the transit stops of military trains in order to launch missile strikes against them.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a 24-year-old local unemployed man, whom the occupiers recruited through Telegram channels offering ‘easy money’.
A smartphone with evidence of his contacts with the russian special services was seized from the agent during searches. The SSU also dismantled the ‘video traps’ installed by him.
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU investigators, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
