Following SSU investigation, traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison for guiding russian strikes on air defence positions in western Ukraine
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, an agent of russia’s federal security service, detained in Khmelnytskyi region in December 2024, has been convicted to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation established that the perpetrator was preparing coordinates for a series of russian missile and drone attacks on the western region of Ukraine.
His main ‘targets’ were radar stations and air defence missile systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which protect Ukrainian airspace.
The aggressor’s task was carried out by a mobilised soldier who deserted his military unit and began working for the FSB.
The occupiers spotted the deserter when he began searching for ‘easy money’ on Telegram.
In exchange for the promise of quick payments, the traitor drove around the area in his car to identify the locations of military installations.
After identifying such sites, he conducted further reconnaissance, marked the locations on Google Maps, and reported to his FSB handler.
The agent also attempted to carry out arson on enemy orders and burn a military vehicle. At this stage, he was detained by the SSU.
A flammable mixture and a smartphone with evidence of work for the FSB were seized from the suspect during the search.
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Khmelnytskyi region under the procedural supervision of Khmelnytskyi Specialised Prosecutor’s Office for Western Region.
