Following SSU investigation, traitor who adjusted russian attacks on power substations in Sumy region sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, another FSB agent who adjusted russian air strikes on Sumy has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained him in July 2024 at his place of residence.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a 42-year-old employee of a local enterprise recruited by the enemy. The man came to the FSB’s attention through his pro-kremlin comments on Telegram channels.

After receiving instructions from russia’s federal security service, the agent marked on Google Maps the power substations that the ruscists planned to destroy to cut off power to the frontline city.

To help evade Ukrainian air defenses, the traitor tracked the AFU’s radar stations and anti-aircraft missile systems.

Immediately after air raid alerts were announced, he began to monitor the work of mobile air defense groups protecting Sumy.

A smartphone, which the spy used to collect intelligence and contact his FSB handler, was seized during searches.

Based on evidence, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk and Sumy regional prosecutor’s offices.
