Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, an enemy agent – whom the SSU exposed in September 2025 whilst he was guiding strikes at the Khmelnytskyi region – has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The investigation revealed that a handyman from the regional centre, who had been recruited by russia’s federal security service, was responsible for directing missile and drone attacks.

He came to the attention of the russian intelligence while seeking ‘easy’ money on Telegram.

The main ‘targets’ for which the enemy was preparing combined strikes were defence enterprises and Armed Forces units in this western region of Ukraine.

Following his recruitment, the agent began surveying the area and secretly photographing production workshops that he believed were fulfilling orders for the Ukrainian army.

He marked the identified targets on Google Maps and sent screenshots of them to his FSB handler via a messaging app.

During the hours of darkness, he also used his mobile phone camera to film the aftermath of previous russian attacks, reporting back to the russian intelligence operative to facilitate the planning of further combined strikes.

SSU cyber units thoroughly documented the traitor’s crimes and caught him while he was filming a potential target.

A smartphone containing evidence of his work for the FSB was seized during his arrest.

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, the court found the accused guilty of high treason under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Khmelnytskyi region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
