Following SSU investigation, another enemy agent sentenced to 15 years in prison for setting fire to railway equipment
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, an enemy agent, detained by the SSU in May 2025 in Dnipro, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and confiscation of property.
As the investigation established, the perpetrator, acting on russia’s orders, set fire to a relay cabinet near a local Ukrzaliznytsia station. In this way, the aggressor state hoped to disrupt transport logistics in the frontline region.
The agent turned out to be a local unemployed man recruited by russian intelligence services. He was spotted by them while looking for ‘easy money’ on specialised Telegram channels.
After the recruitment, he received a list of potential ‘targets’ from his handler, which he was to reconnoitre and then destroy by fire.
The perpetrator set fire to a railway relay cabinet, filmed it on video, and reported the completed task to the russian intelligence operative.
After that, he was supposed to continue a series of arson attacks on critical infrastructure facilities in Dnipro, but was caught red-handed by the SSU.
During searches, a smartphone containing evidence of his work for the enemy was seized.
The court found the accused guilty under Article 113.2 of the CCU (sabotage, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk Region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
