Following SSU investigation, enemy agent sentenced to 15 years in prison for adjusting russian guided aerial bombs strikes on Donetsk region
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, another agent of russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’), who spied in Donetsk region, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
As the investigation established, his main task was to guide russian glide bombs at the Defense Forces on Kramatorsk direction.
The perpetrator is a 47-year-old local resident, recruited by the occupiers through the banned social network Odnoklassniki, where he posted pro-russian comments.
To identify the geolocations of the Defense Forces, the traitor drove around the frontline area, photographing military objects and marking them on Google Maps.
The agent’s reconnaissance activities were coordinated by a ‘liaison’ – a militant of the russian occupation units fighting on the eastern front and cooperating with the GRU.
The SSU Counterintelligence uncovered the enemy accomplice and detained him in February this year. Computer equipment, which he used to contact the occupiers, was seized during searches.
Following the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
