Following SSU investigation, four traitors who fought against Ukraine on eastern front sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, another four militants who fought against the Defense Forces in Donetsk region have been sentenced to prison.

Ukrainian defenders captured them during fighting on Siversk and Novopavlivka directions at the end of 2024.

After investigations by the SSU, the court sentenced them to 15 years behind bars with confiscation of property.

The persons convicted are residents of the temporarily occupied part of eastern Ukraine who joined the occupation troops of russia’s Southern military district.

One of them is a paramedic from Makiivka who, as part of the russian 5th motorized rifle brigade, evacuated wounded russian soldiers from the battlefield near Kurakhove.

Another is a resident of Donetsk. As part of the occupiers’ 91st rifle regiment, he built fortifications on the left bank of Kherson region. He was later transferred to the eastern front, where he was captured near Zelenivka.

Another two are residents of Rovenky, Luhansk region. One of them joined the invaders even before the start of the full-scale war. From the end of 2022, the militants fought in russia’s 2nd and 85th motorized rifle brigades.

They participated in the capture of Siversk, Lysychansk and Rubizhne. They then stormed the AFU positions near Verkhniokamianske and were captured by Ukrainian defenders.

The court found the accused guilty of crimes under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111.1, 111.2 (high treason);
  • 111-1.7 (collaboration).

The investigations were conducted by SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
