Following SSU investigation, another three spotters who leaked information on AFU to ruscists face 12 years in prison

The Security Service of Ukraine has collected evidence against another three enemy informants who passed information to the occupiers on the deployment and operations of the Armed Forces in several regions of Ukraine.

In Lviv oblast, an indictment has been filed against a citizen of a Central Asian country who passed information to russia on the Armed Forces’ bases and movements.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained the foreign national in August 2025. The woman collected intelligence using a dashcam she had mounted behind the windshield of her own car.

The investigation established that she initially spied in Kyiv and later moved to the western region of Ukraine.

The asset transmitted the collected information via a messaging app to an acquaintance in Krasnodar, russia, who works for the russian intelligence services.

In Poltava region, a pre-trial investigation has been completed regarding two local residents who disclosed the coordinates of checkpoints in the region.

To disseminate the classified information, the individuals set up and administered Viber groups where they posted the geolocations of the Defence Forces.

The Security Service detained both suspects at the end of January this year and has now filed an indictment with the court.

In relation to the offences committed, the accused are charged under the Articles of the CCU:

  • 114-2.3 (dissemination of information regarding the location of the AFU during martial law);
  • 114-1.1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations);
  • 182.1 (illegal collection and dissemination of confidential personal information).

The enemy spotters now face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Lviv and Poltava regions under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutors’ Offices.
