At SSU’s initiative, court seizes corporate rights of large travel agency
The SSU established that the ultimate beneficiary of this company is a russian billionaire close to russian political leadership.
In russian business circles, this man is known as ‘iron boy’. He owns one of the largest russian steel and mining companies and has controlling stakes in several enterprises.
In 2016, the businessman received the award ‘For Beneficence’ from the russian president putin.
Currently, following the court’s decision, his tourism business in Ukraine has been arrested. This applies to:
- corporate rights in the form of 100% of the company’s authorized capital in the amount of over UAH 31.5 mln (USD 885,000);
- funds in the amount of over UAH 3 mln (USD 85,000) and USD 106,000 on the business’s bank accounts.
All seized assets have been handed over to the National Agency of Ukraine for Detection, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).
The SSU continues the pre-trial investigation into this company under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Article 110-2.2 (financing of actions committed for the purpose of violent change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of territory or state border of Ukraine)
- Article 191.2 (appropriation, embezzlement of property or appropriating it through abuse of office).
The SSU has been working on the case under procedural supervision of Kyiv Podilsk District Prosecutor’s Office.
