SSU detains enemy accomplice in Kropyvnytskyi for attempt to register Starlink terminals for ruscists
The SSU Counterintelligence has thwarted new attempts by the occupiers to gain access to Starlink terminals.
As a result of an operation in Kropyvnytskyi, a local unemployed woman has been detained; the enemy had recruited her to register internet communication stations for them.
As the investigation revealed, the suspect initially registered one Starlink terminal in her name and planned to pass its details to russia.
Next, the perpetrator attempted to recruit four of her acquaintances from the region to collaborate with the russian intelligence.
In exchange for the promise of quick money, they were to register more than a dozen Starlink terminals in their own and their relatives’ names and pass the relevant information to the russians.
The SSU identified the asset at an early stage, blocked the satellite station registered to her, and prevented the recruitment of front men.
Security Service investigators have notified the detainee of her status as a suspect under Article 114-1.1 of the CCU (obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations). She faces up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kirovohrad region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
