Kharkiv: SSU detains FSB mole who guided russian drones at one of Ukraine’s largest cogeneration plants

In Kharkiv, the Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended another agent of russia’s federal security service. He is an employee of one of the largest cogeneration power plants in Ukraine and was preparing enemy air attacks on the energy facility where he worked.

According to the investigation, the mole was trying to identify ‘gaps’ in the local air defense system.

The enemy was most interested in the locations and routes of mobile air defense groups protecting the airspace near the power plant.

To obtain the coordinates, the traitor walked around the area near the combined heat and power facility and recorded the locations of the Ukrainian defenders’ likely presence on his mobile phone camera.

The agent was also collecting information for the FSB about the consequences of previous attacks on the plant and the results of restoration efforts.

The SSU uncovered the mole at an early stage, documented his crimes and detained him red-handed when he was spying in the technological premises of the facility.

The individual came to the enemy’s attention when he posted anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram.

A mobile phone with evidence of working for the FSB was seized from the detainee during searches.

SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
