SSU detains another spotter preparing russian strikes on defence enterprises and CHP plants in Kyiv

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russia’s federal security service in Kyiv. She was gathering information for a new attack on the capital’s energy infrastructure, in particular conducting reconnaissance near the city’s combined heat and power plants.

The traitor was also tracking the operations of state-owned and private enterprises working for Ukraine’s defence industry, passing their coordinates to the enemy for the preparation of missile attacks.

According to the investigation, the woman disguised her reconnaissance trips as walks with her young daughter. She also regularly changed her clothes and demeanor on the street.

In this way, the agent collected intelligence on the technical condition of energy facilities after recent missile and drone attacks and gathered data on the state of enterprises in the defence-industrial complex.

The perpetrator marked the coordinates on Google Maps and photographed potential ‘targets’ on her phone.

The SSU documented the suspect’s actions and detained her in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv.

The aggressor’s orders were carried out by a saleswoman of one of the retail chains, recruited by the FSB. She came to their attention while seeking ‘easy money’ on Telegram.

Agreeing to the promise of quick money, the asset began driving around the city collecting intelligence to help russia target Kyiv’s CHP plants and defence enterprises.

A smartphone, which she used to coordinate her actions with her FSB handler, as well as removable SIM cards, were seized during the search.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv Region under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
