SSU detains enemy agent guiding bomb strikes on Sloviansk’s defenders
The SSU Counterintelligence has apprehended another russian intelligence asset in Donetsk region. The perpetrator provided the occupiers with coordinates for strikes on Sloviansk with guided aerial bombs.
The traitor turned out to be an unemployed resident of Sloviansk. She was spotted for recruitment by russia at pro-kremlin Telegram channels.
The agent was tasked with collecting the geolocations of Defence Forces personnel and equipment.
To do this, she frequented local retail outlets to initiate ‘casual’ conversations with servicemen, attempting to extract sensitive information regarding their deployments.
On her way home, the enemy accomplice conducted visual surveillance of potential military sites.
After her reconnaissance trips, the agent plotted the gathered coordinates on Google Maps and sent the data to her russian handlers.
The SSU detained the perpetrator at her home. During the searches, a smartphone with evidence of her work for the enemy was seized.
SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
