SSU detains another four arsonists who carried out russia’s orders in eastern, northern, and western Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another four accomplices of russian special services who carried out arson attacks in several regions of Ukraine on enemy orders.

The perpetrators came to the attention of the occupiers through Telegram channels offering easy money.

In Kharkiv, a 15-year-old schoolgirl was detained for burning two Ukrainian Armed Forces off-road vehicles that were undergoing maintenance after combat missions on the eastern front.

In Lviv, two students from a local technical college were detained for setting fire to a relay cabinet of a signaling system on the railway.

In Chernihiv, a 41-year-old local resident who had previously been prosecuted for drug trafficking was apprehended.

This time, the repeat offender attempted to destroy an administrative building of a Territorial Recruitment Center using a Molotov cocktail, which he made on his russian handler’s instructions.

Flammable mixtures used to commit the arsons and phones with evidence of working for russia were seized during searches.

Based on evidence, SSU investigators notified the perpetrators of suspicion of crimes under three Articles of the CCU, according to actions each of them committed:

  • 113.2 (sabotage, committed under martial law);
  • 114-1.1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU, during martial law);
  • 194.2 (intentional damage to property by arson, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

The suspects are in custody and face between 10 years and life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Lviv regions under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor’s Offices.
