SSU detains russian agent who scouted positions of Ukrainian Air Defence (video)

The SSU Military Counterintelligence has neutralized the aggressor’s attempt to locate Ukrainian air defense systems near the southern and eastern fronts.

During a special operation in Dnipropetrovsk region, the SSU detained a russian agent who was scouting the positions of Ukrainian S-300 air defence missile systems.

He was supposed to transmit the obtained coordinates to his ‘supervisor’ through secure communication channels.

It is highly likely that occupiers planned to use this information to carry out missile strikes or sabotage in order to undermine Ukrainian air defence.

Few days ago, 6 out of 7 rockets that the ruscists launched at Dnipropetrovsk region were shot down by the air defense system.

It was established that the traitor had been recruited by a representative of russian special services to carry out intelligence and subversive activity against Ukraine.

During the searches of the suspect’s home, the law enforcement found mobile phones and computer equipment that he used to communicate with the aggressor.

The SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion of crimes under two articles of the CCU:

  • 111.2 (treason committed under martial law),
  • 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives).

The court has decided to keep the suspect in custody.

The operation was carried out by the SSU under procedural guidance of Dnipropetrovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
