SSU detains former executive of strategic enterprise in Donetsk region for guiding russian strikes

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another enemy spotter in Donetsk region. He is a former shop floor manager of a local machine-building plant who had been recruited by russia.

The ruscists spotted the individual after he resigned from the enterprise.

He was subsequently contacted and offered cooperation by a former subordinate who joined the russian army back in 2014 and now carries out recruitment tasks for the russian intelligence services.

Having accepted the offer, the agent began gathering data on locations of the Defence Forces.

The aggressor’s priority targets included backup command posts, logistics centers, and Ukrainian UAV units in Kramatorsk and its outskirts.

To identify the coordinates of these targets, the agent scouted the area on foot, avoiding visual contact with military and law enforcement personnel.

During these reconnaissance trips, he marked the discovered Defence Forces locations on Google Maps to compile an intelligence report for russia.

At this stage, the SSU was already documenting every move of the traitor and protected the deployment sites of Ukrainian defenders.

The suspect was detained during the final phase of the operation.

A smartphone containing evidence of his work for the enemy was seized during the search.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
