SSU detains FSB agent for adjusting attacks on Kyiv energy infrastructure
In Kyiv region, the SSU has detained another member of the FSB agent group, which was exposed in the spring of this year. The perpetrators coordinated the russian missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital.
In May, a member of an enemy cell who tracked the locations of the Defense Forces for russian shelling was detained. Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Currently, the SSU has detained another agent of the group. He is a 49-year-old employee of a local service station recruited by the FSB. The suspect came to the attention of the occupiers when he was looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram channels.
Following instructions from the russian special services, the traitor collected and sent intelligence on the technical condition of energy facilities in Kyiv region with their coordinates to his handler.
The priority targets included electrical substations supplying power to most of Kyiv.
In addition, the agent tracked the locations of Ukrainian defenders in the city and its surroundings.
The SSU has documented his crimes and detained him. The detainee was seized of a phone with the evidence of his cooperation with the russian intelligence.
SSU investigators have notified him of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The enemy accomplice is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of regional Prosecutor General’s Office.
