SSU detains FSB informant who adjusted ruscist attacks on Defense Forces in Donetsk region
In Donetsk region, the SSU Counterintelligence has apprehended another informant of russia’s federal security service. He is a 55-year-old unemployed man from Sloviansk, who adjusted russian attacks on the Defense Forces near Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
His main task was to find and pass to the enemy the coordinates of reserve command posts, repair bases and depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
To evade Ukrainian air defenses, the occupiers also instructed the agent to identify combat positions of radar stations.
The SSU identified the traitor at an early stage and thwarted the adversary’s intentions. After documenting the crime, the perpetrator was detained at his home in Sloviansk.
According to the investigation, the informant gathered intelligence while traveling around the area near the city and the frontline.
At first, he provided the collected data to a special enemy chatbot. Subsequently, the asset was brought into contact with the FSB through a ‘liaison’ – a former local woman who left for russia in February 2022 and began working for the occupiers.
A mobile phone with evidence of working for the FSB was seized from the suspect.
SSU investigators have now served him a notice of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (dissemination of information on transfer, movement or location of the AFU, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 8 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
