SSU detains FSB agent gathering intelligence for new russian attacks on Druzhkivka

In Donetsk region, the SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russia’s federal security service. The perpetrator was collecting information on the positions of Ukrainian troops to prepare new attempts by russian forces to break through on Kramatorsk direction, where fierce fighting continues.

According to the investigation, the enemy agent was a saleswoman at a local shop.

She came to the attention of russian special services when she posted anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram channels.

To gather intelligence for the enemy, the asset:

  • obtained information under the guise of casual conversations with customers at the shop;
  • filmed Ukrainian Armed Forces military convoys from the window of her home.

The occupiers wanted to obtain coordinates of Ukrainian backup command posts and logistics depots, which they were going to strike with guided aerial bombs.

The invaders also hoped to identify combat positions of Ukrainian artillery, which is holding back russian attacks in the direction of the frontline town.

The SSU Counterintelligence detained the traitor and took action to protect the locations of Ukrainian troops.

During the search of the suspect’s home, a smartphone was found with an anonymous chat in a messenger app, which she used to contact the FSB.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
