SSU detains FSB agent preparing new russian strikes and terrorist attacks in Kyiv

Cyber units of the Security Service have exposed another enemy agent in Kyiv. The traitor was gathering information about the security system of the Defence Forces’ administrative buildings in the capital.

The SSU detained the agent when she was conducting reconnaissance near the Main Directorate of the National Guard.

According to her assignment, the woman was to prepare and submit to her handler a plan showing locations of checkpoints and service parking lots around the perimeter of the defence facility.

The asset had also collected similar information about the locations of Territorial Recruitment Centers in several districts of Kyiv.

The occupiers planned to use the intelligence to prepare new terrorist attacks and air strikes on the city.

The accomplice of russian special services turned out to be a 36-year-old local freelancer recruited by the FSB. She was recruited remotely through her acquaintance from the temporarily occupied Crimea, who cooperates with russia.

In case of executing the enemy tasks, the agent hoped to be extracted to russia through third countries.

The SSU thwarted these plans. During the search, the investigators seized a smartphone, which she used to contact her FSB handler.

The detainee has been served a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
