In Dnipro, the SSU Main Directorate for Internal Security has exposed yet another agent of russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’). He turned out to be an electrician recruited by the enemy, who was helping russia prepare air strikes against local targets.

The perpetrator had changed jobs several times at regional factories, attempting to find a company working for Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.

As soon as the agent secured employment with a company actually linked to the defence sector, the SSU detained him.

Having inside knowledge of the situation, the agent drew up cartographic diagrams of local factories for the ruscists, marking premises containing particularly valuable equipment, production halls and product storage depots. He also reported to the enemy on the specifications of finished products and the companies’ work schedules.

In addition to spying at the enterprises, the suspect attempted to identify bases of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine and help russia target these facilities.

The SSU apprehended the traitor at his home.

A smartphone, which the agent had used to gather intelligence and maintain contact with a ‘liaison’ from the GRU was seized during the search. The ‘liaison’ turned out to be an employee of the occupying ‘ministry of state security of the luhansk people’s republic’, working for the russian military intelligence.

SSU investigators have notified the enemy informant of his status as a suspect under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the Dnipropetrovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
