SSU detains FSB agent who provided enemy with intelligence on air defence systems and airfields in Kyiv and Poltava regions
In Kyiv, the Security Service of Ukraine has detained another enemy agent. On behalf of russia’s federal security service, he adjusted russian air strikes on two regions at once – Kyiv and Poltava.
As the investigation established, his task was to find and transmit the coordinates of air bases, radar stations, and anti-aircraft missile systems of the Defence Forces.
The traitor turned out to be a Kyiv resident recruited by the FSB. He came to their attention after posting pro-kremlin comments on Telegram.
To carry out the enemy tasks, he drove around the area in his car and marked locations of defence facilities on Google Maps.
The agent also recorded the directions and number of sorties of Ukraine’s combat aircraft through the airspace of both regions.
After his reconnaissance trips, he prepared a ‘report’ and sent it to his handler in the form of screenshots of maps with the coordinates of the objects and his comments.
The SSU caught the suspect red-handed while he was gathering intelligence near one of the locations.
A smartphone with evidence of working for the FSB was seized from the man at the scene.
SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The enemy accomplice is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
