SSU detains FSB agent who guided russian missile strikes at Ukrainian military airfields
The SSU’s cyber units prevented a series of russian air strikes on the aviation infrastructure of the Armed Forces.
As a result of a special operation in Khmelnytskyi region, the Security Service detained an agent of russia’s federal security service who was gathering intelligence for strikes on Ukrainian Air Force airfields in western Ukraine.
The perpetrator is a 53-year-old local unemployed man who came to the occupiers’ attention through his pro-kremlin comments on Telegram channels.
The agent’s main task was to identify the take-off and landing strips of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in western regions and track the schedule of combat flights at airfields.
The enemy planned to use this information for missile and drone strikes against Ukraine’s military aviation.
The SSU’s cyber units identified the agent at an early stage and documented his unlawful activities. After action was taken to protect the locations of the Defense Forces, the traitor was detained.
During the search a phone was seized from him, on which he had stored the collected information and prepared a ‘report’ for the FSB.
SSU investigators notified the enemy accomplice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
