The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another FSB agent in Khmelnytskyi region. The suspect was preparing coordinates for a new series of russian missile and drone attacks on western Ukraine.

The enemy tasked the spotter with reconnoitering key targets, including defense industrial facilities and Ukrainian military logistics centers.

SSU officers uncovered the enemy’s plan in advance and detained the agent red-handed while he was conducting reconnaissance near a strategic facility.

According to the investigation, the task assigned by ruscists was being carried out by a local repeat offender recruited by the FSB, who had a prior conviction for drug offences.

He came to the attention of russian intelligence through Telegram channels where he was searching for ‘quick money’ to buy drugs.

It has been documented that the agent conducted reconnaissance under the guise of cycling trips, recording the perimeters of potential targets on his smartphone, and sending videos with geolocated data to his handler in russia.

During a search, the detainee was seized of a phone with evidence of his cooperation with the enemy.

SSU investigators notified the agent of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was conducted by SSU officers in Khmelnytskyi region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
