SSU detains FSB agent preparing new massive russian strike on Myrhorod
In Poltava region, the Security Service of Ukraine has detained another agent of russia’s federal security service. The perpetrator was preparing coordinates for a new missile attack on the defence and critical infrastructure of Myrhorod.
Using the data provided by this spotter, the enemy hoped to strike most of the power substations supplying the city with ballistic missiles.
The ruscists’ priority targets were also the mobile air defense groups and reserve command posts of Ukrainian troops.
To adjust the strike, the FSB recruited a local handyman via Telegram.
Following the enemy instructions, the agent searched the city for energy facilities and buildings where Defence Forces personnel were located.
During his reconnaissance trips, he marked the locations of such ‘targets’ on Google Maps and passed them on to his handler, an employee of the FSB border office in Pskov region.
The Security Service identified the traitor at an early stage and caught him red-handed while he was photographing the perimeter of one of the Defence Forces’ reserve locations.
Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the sites that the agent had spied on.
A smartphone with evidence of working for the enemy was seized from the detainee at the scene.
SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The special operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
