SSU detains FSB agent about to be blown up unwittingly near Kryvyi Rih Territorial Recruitment Center
The Security Service of Ukraine has prevented another terrorist attack in Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result of a special operation in Kryvyi Rih, the SSU detained an enemy agent who was preparing an explosion near the local Territorial Recruitment Center on orders of russia’s federal security service.
As was established by the investigation, the terrorist was to leave disguised explosives near the checkpoint of the military facility. The occupiers planned to detonate the bomb together with the agent in the morning during rush hour.
In this way, the aggressor state hoped to kill a maximum number of citizens and eliminate their asset as an ‘unnecessary witness’.
The traitor turned out to be a 26-year-old Lviv resident who was recruited by the FSB through a Telegram channel offering quick money.
On russia’s instructions, the agent arrived in Kryvyi Rih and received the location of the cache, from which he took an improvised explosive device.
He brought it to a rented apartment, equipped the bomb with additional destructive elements – bolts, rebar – and connected a phone for remote activation.
After that, the individual conducted additional reconnaissance near the target facility, where he was supposed to plant the IED disguised as a fire extinguisher in his backpack.
All this time, the russian special service was tracking his route through remote access to his cell phone camera.
The SSU uncovered the perpetrator at an early stage, took action to protect the locations of the Defense Forces and detained the suspect on his way to planting the IED.
SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Articles 14.1, 258.2 of the CCU (preparation for committing a terrorist act).
The suspect is in custody and faces up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The SSU is warning Ukrainians: russian special services have started using new tactics – they blow up their agents, use them unwittingly, and then get rid of them as unnecessary witnesses.
If you or your friends are offered to ‘just deliver a package’ to a Territorial Recruitment Center, police or other administrative building, you should know that they want to kill you.
