SSU detains two FSB agents adjusting russian strikes in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions
The SSU Counterintelligence has detained two more russian agents who were adjusting enemy fire at the southeastern frontline regions of Ukraine.
The suspects had one common handler from the FSB, but operated in different regions: Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk. Their main task was to locate air defense positions and temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian troops.
One of the detainees is a senior security official at a top Dnipro university, who was recruited by the FSB.
According to the investigation, the traitor was recruited by the occupiers through his relative, who lives in russia and collaborates with the russian intelligence services.
To carry out the intelligence tasks, the resident of Dnipro engaged his acquaintance, a head of the water supply section in the town of Huliaipole, Zaporizhzhia region, which is located near the line of contact.
To gather coordinates, the suspects drove around the area during air raid alerts and recorded the activities of the Ukrainian air defense forces.
They also discreetly questioned acquaintances about where Defense Forces bases were located, and then cross-checked the coordinates.
SSU officers have detained both agents and seized evidence of their work for the enemy special service.
SSU investigators have notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 28.2, 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law).
The enemy accomplices are in custody without the right to bail and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions under the procedural supervision of Zaporizhzhia Region Prosecutor’s Office.
