SSU prevents another terrorist attack downtown Kyiv on evening of July 23 (video)

The SSU Counterintelligence has prevented another terrorist attack by russian special services in Kyiv. On the evening of July 23, a suspect was detained who attempted to blow up a café in the city center.

To commit the crime, she planned to leave two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) totaling nearly 1.5 kg in TNT equivalent at the café.

According to the investigation, russian special services planned to remotely detonate both IEDs during the evening rush hour to kill as many people as possible.

SSU officers have uncovered the enemy's plan and detained the suspect “red-handed” when she entered a cafe with the explosive device hidden in her bag.

It has been established that the russian order was carried out by a Kyiv resident who was recruited to commit a false flag attack. The occupiers convinced the woman that she was allegedly performing a task for the Security Service of Ukraine.

The SSU is investigating how the suspect obtained the IED.

It has been documented that she received the geolocation of the planned explosion site from her russian handler, where she was to place the explosives.

The suspect was seized of a phone, containing evidence of her contacts with the occupiers.

Her actions are being qualified under articles of the CCU.

Please note: Representatives of the Security Service do not hire people over the phone, do not ask them to perform illegal actions, and do not assign suspicious tasks. The SSU operates exclusively within the framework of current Ukrainian legislation.

If you receive suspicious offers or contacts from unknown persons claiming to be SSU officers, immediately report this to the SSU hotline at 0 800 501 482 or the BURN THE FSB-MAN chatbot at t.me/spaly_fsb_bot.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
