The Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine has detained another two accomplices of the aggressor state in Lviv. The perpetrators illegally registered 14 Starlink satellite terminals for russian armed groupings.

The russians used the internet communication stations to plan combat operations against the Defence Forces in the Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

It has been established that the enemy’s task was carried out by a student from Lviv who had been recruited by the russian intelligence. He came to their attention whilst searching for ‘easy’ money on Telegram.

The suspect enlisted the help of an unemployed acquaintance from Lviv and sought out individuals to register the Starlink terminals.

The perpetrators deceived 14 people and used their passport details to verify the terminals for ruscists.

Once the internet devices had been activated, they sent the relevant details to their russian handler in exchange for money.

The SSU Counterintelligence documented the crimes of both suspects and arrested them at their homes.

Mobile phones, which they used to coordinate their actions with the enemy, were seized during the searches.

The Security Service has now blocked all illegally registered Starlink systems.

Information regarding the possible illegal registration of over 40 additional satellite communication terminals by the suspects is under investigation.

The SSU has notified the detainees of their status as suspects under Articles 28.2, 111-2.1 of the CCU (aiding an aggressor state, committed by a group, by prior conspiracy).

The suspects are in custody without bail. They face up to 12 years in prison and confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Counterintelligence investigators of the SSU Lviv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
