SSU detains fsb agent who guided russian attacks in Khmelnytskyi region

The SSU CI detained fsb agent in Khmelnytskyi region. He was preparing coordinates for new missile and drone attacks on western regions of Ukraine.

The investigation revealed that the agent guided combined attacks on military units, defense factories and postal terminals.

To prepare the shelling, the fire spotter walked around the city and its outskirts. While pretending to talk with somebody on the phone, he filmed the locations of the potential targets.

SSU officers detained him red-handed whilst the agent was carrying out further reconnaissance near one of the strategically important facilities.

It was established that the recruited fsb agent was unemployed local citizen, previously convicted of drug possession.

fsb found him whilst looking for earning ‘easy money’ on Telegram channels.

After being recruited he tracked the geolocations of defense industry facilities and the permanent deployment sites of Ukrainian troops.

He then changed the activity and started to identify the coordinates of logistics centers and postal terminals.

The suspect stored the gathered data on his smartphone in the form of markers on digital maps.

During the searches, the SSU officers found the mobile phone with evidence of his collaboration with the enemy.

The SSU investigators have notified the agent of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Khmelnytskyi region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
