SSU detains another seven juvenile arsonists who burnt relay cabinets on Ukrainian railways on russia’s order

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed new arsonists who acted on russia’s instructions in the northern and central regions of Ukraine. The youngest of the suspects is only 12 years old, the oldest – 16.

All of them are local schoolchildren and students who were recruited by russian special services when they were looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram.

After involving the minors in the sabotage, the occupiers gave them tasks to destroy relay cabinets of Ukrzaliznytsia.

The perpetrators used flammable mixtures to commit the arsons and then recorded the fire on video.

According to the investigation, the six juvenile arsonists, who were caught in Cherkasy region, studied at the same school in Smila.

First, russian special services tested them for readiness to sabotage and terrorist attacks. To do this, the occupiers instructed them to write provocative graffiti on the walls of buildings.

After the test tasks, the teenagers set fire to several relay cabinets and then received new instructions from russia: to make an improvised explosive device for a terrorist attack.

The group did not have time to make the explosives as the SSU worked proactively.

The decision to qualify the minors’ actions is pending.

Another arsonist was detained in Chernihiv. He is a 16-year-old student of a local lyceum who, on russia’s orders, tried to disrupt the railway logistics of the Defense Forces in the north of Ukraine.

To do this, he was to set fire to several relay cabinets of entrance traffic lights, which ensure uninterrupted movement of freight trains and military echelons.

The SSU detained the individual in hot pursuit after he set fire to the first power facility.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion under Article 113.2 of the CCU (sabotage, committed under martial law).

The crime is punishable by life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Offices.
