SSU exposes enemy agent preparing new russian attacks on Kryvyi Rih power plants
In Dnipropetrovsk region, the Security Service has detained another agent of russia’s federal security service. He helped the aggressor target energy infrastructure of Kryvyi Rih by drones and missiles.
The priority ‘targets’ were local heat and power generation enterprises.
To adjust enemy strikes on them, the perpetrator carried out reconnaissance near the energy facilities to assess their technical condition after russian attacks and provide this data to the FSB.
The investigation established that the spotter was a 31-year-old assistant engineer at one of the mining enterprises who had been recruited by the enemy. He came to the FSB’s attention when he posted anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram.
To obtain intelligence, the agent travelled around the area on public transport, photographing the exterior facades of energy facilities from the window.
He also noted the locations of Defence Forces personnel and military equipment in order to provide this information to the occupiers.
The SSU acted preemptively and detained the agent at his home when he returned from a reconnaissance ‘trip’ and was preparing to pass intelligence to the russian handler.
Two smartphones, which he used to contact the FSB, were seized during searches.
SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
