SSU exposes married couple who, on enemy’s behalf, guided russian strikes and called to capture Kherson
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another two collaborators in Kherson. They turned out to be a local garage cooperative security guard and his wife.
As the investigation established, the man justified the temporary occupation of the left bank of Kherson region on social media and called for the capture of the city.
In the meantime, his wife was involved in adjusting russian shelling. Under the guise of walking her dog, she walked around the area to identify and pass on the locations of the Defence Forces to the occupiers.
The suspect initially used her own mobile phone to contact the occupiers. Then, to conceal their communications, the russian intelligence services used a drone to deliver a package with a new smartphone to her from the left bank.
The SSU documented the crimes of both traitors and detained them. During the searches of their home, mobile phones containing evidence of crimes were seized.
SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 114-2.2 (unauthorised dissemination of information on the movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed under martial law);
- 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, and glorification of its participants).
The suspects face up to eight years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kherson region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
