SSU exposes minor guiding attacks on Dnipro on orders of his father, enemy agent
In Dnipro, the SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russian military intelligence (the GRU). He turned out to be a 17-year-old local resident recruited by the enemy, who directed russian airstrikes on the city.
In January of this year, the SSU detained his father, who also turned out to be a spotter.
As the investigation established, the son worked for the enemy alongside his father. Following instructions from his dad, he travelled around the frontline city, attempting to identify locations of industrial facilities that could be fulfilling defence contracts.
After his reconnaissance trips, the teenager reported to his father on factories and enterprises that, in his opinion, were producing weapons and ammunition. Among other things, he sent him photos of Ukrainian facilities and their coordinates on Google Maps.
The ‘senior’ agent compiled the gathered data for subsequent transmission to the resident of the intelligence network, who is located in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region.
The occupiers hoped to use the intelligence obtained to prepare a new series of missile and bomb strikes on Dnipro.
The SSU established all the circumstances of the enemy cell’s intelligence and sabotage activities, protected the locations of potential targets, and detained the minor agent.
A smartphone and a flash drive disguised as a folding knife containing evidence of his work for the GRU were seized from the suspect during the search.
SSU investigators notified him of suspicion under Articles 28.2 and 111.2 of the CCU – high treason, committed by a group, by prior conspiracy, under martial law.
The suspect is in custody without bail and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Dnipropetrovsk Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
