SSU uncovers FSB mole in Ukrainian energy company: he guided russian drones to cut off power to Kyiv (video)

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed an agent of russia’s federal security service in one of Ukraine’s leading energy companies. As a result of the operation in Kyiv oblast, the company’s IT specialist who guided russian attacks at the region’s critical infrastructure has been detained.

The investigation established that the traitor was supposed to provide the coordinates of his company’s underground backup data centers to the occupiers.

These are technological repositories of specialized data that ensure uninterrupted functioning of Ukraine’s energy system.

The aggressor also hoped to obtain from the mole the geolocation of gas turbine generators installed to ensure an alternative power supply to Kyiv residents in case the capital’s power substations are damaged.

The SSU identified the enemy accomplice at an early stage, documented his crimes and apprehended him.

A smartphone with evidence of working for russia was seized from the perpetrator during searches.

The agent received assignments from the FSB through a relative who previously headed one of the banned pro-kremlin parties in Ukraine and now cooperates with the russian special services on the left bank of Kherson region.

In September 2022, this relative was notified of suspicion of high treason in absentia by investigators of the Security Service.

Based on the evidence, the SSU declared the energy company official suspect under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operational and investigative actions were carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
