SSU finds hundreds of thousands in cash, pro-kremlin literature and occupiers’ field rations in Kharkiv UOC-MP diocese

The SSU has completed counterintelligence (security) measures at the facilities of moscow patriarchate’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kharkiv region.

Libraries with pro-kremlin literature, material praising the aggressor state and a large amount of cash in different currencies, including russian rubles, have been found in the diocese.

One of the churches even kept field rations of russian occupation forces. A monk with a russian passport was also found there.

Currently, the law enforcement agencies are checking the individual’s possible involvement in intelligence and subversive activities of russian special services.

All seized items have been sent for examination for further procedural actions.

We emphasize that the SSU adheres to the principle of impartiality to any religious denomination and respects the right of every citizen to freedom of worldview and religion, as defined by the Constitution of Ukraine.

The security measures were carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region jointly with the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service.
