SSU identifies another 12 law enforcement ‘officials’ who carry out repressions and fabricate ‘evidence’ against Ukrainians in temporarily occupied territories

The SSU has collected evidence that another 12 collaborators, who joined the so-called ‘law enforcement system’ of russia in the temporarily occupied territories, voluntarily cooperate with the enemy.

The traitors are engaged in repressions against the pro-Ukrainian population of these areas and fabricate ‘criminal cases’ with invented ‘evidence’.

Among these ‘law enforcers’ is the so-called ‘deputy head of the military commandant’s office’ in Lazurne, Kherson region with the call sign ‘Greek’.

According to the investigation, he served in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Mariupol. After the hostilities began in 2014, he fled to the temporarily occupied Crimea and joined russia’s national guard in Sevastopol.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the traitor returned to the mainland to ‘strengthen the security forces’ of the occupation regime.

The SSU established that this individual had abducted, tortured Ukrainians and forced them to cooperate with the occupation regime.

‘Greek’ was notified of suspicion of crimes under two Articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
  • 438.1 (violation of laws and customs of war).

Another resident of Kherson region after the occupation of Nova Kakhovka accepted the position of a ‘chief of temporary detention center’, which is part of ‘Novokakhovka police department’ established by russian special services.

In his new status, the collaborator, together with other representatives of occupation authorities, abducts and takes pro-Ukrainian citizens and ATO veterans to the ‘detention facility’. It has been confirmed that this individual conducted interrogations and tortured the illegally detained citizens.

The former deputy head of the temporary police detention facility and three forensic experts also defected to the occupiers. They joined the so-called ‘MIA research and forensic center’ in Kherson region.

Currently, they conduct forensic ‘examinations’ in favor of the occupation authorities and investigate crimes in a way, which harms Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The so-called ‘forensic experts’ help fabricate fake accusations against Ukrainian patriots.

The SSU also documented the activities of the chief of the occupation ‘police’ of Starobilsk district, Luhansk region, appointed by russian occupiers.

Currently, this individual helps maintain the ‘new order’ in the temporarily captured Starobilsk district. Under his leadership, the occupation police ‘prosecutes’ citizens on the basis of fake ‘lnr laws’.

In Volnovakha, Donetsk region, SSU investigators also documented criminal activity of a former police officer.

He retired in 2011, but when the full-scale invasion began, for ideological reasons, he returned to service in the occupation regime as a ‘chief of criminal investigation department of Volnovakha district MIA unit.’

The SSU qualified the activities of all of the above-mentioned collaborators under Article 111-1.7 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (voluntary occupation by a citizen of Ukraine of a position in illegal law enforcement agencies created in temporarily occupied territory).

The crime is punishable by up to 15 years of imprisonment.

The SSU has been documenting these crimes together with the SBI under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine and regional prosecutor’s offices.
