SSU identifies over 4,000 individuals whom russia plans to involve in sham referendums in Ukraine’s occupied regions
As a result of multi-stage operations, the SSU together with the Prosecutor General’s Office has established the identities of the main organizers and participants of preparation of fake referendums in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
So far, we have identified over 4,000 representatives of enemy groups, traitors and collaborators, whom the aggressor state plans to engage in organization of illegal plebiscites in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Among them are representatives of russian security forces, their accomplices from local ‘MIA’ directorates established by occupiers, and heads of the so-called ‘territorial electoral commissions’.
According to the intercepted documents of the aggressor state, the units of russia’s national guard and military police of the russian armed forces are supposed to ‘maintain security’ of the pseudo-voting. Collaborators from occupation administrations and private security structures controlled by russian special services were sent to ‘help’ them.
The SSU has collected identification data on all organizers of the unlawful events, established their locations and routes, and documented their criminal activities.
SSU investigators opened criminal proceedings under Articles of the CCU:
- 28.2, 111-1.5 (collaboration),
- 110.2 (trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).
The investigation is underway to bring the culprits to justice.
The SSU warns: punishment for crimes against Ukraine’s state security is inevitable.
The SSU Department for National Statehood Protection and the SSU Offices in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions exposed and documented the offences under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
