The SSU has launched a pre-trial investigation against a pro-russian journalist who worked for TV channels of Viktor Medvedchuk, suspected of high treason.

The proceedings were initiated under the Article 436-2.2 of the CCU (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

According to the investigation, the pro-russian stories of this journalist manipulate the viewers’ minds in russia’s favour. Such material includes a documentary film, allegedly created by her, about Mariupol, where enemy propaganda narratives are used.

Operational and investigative activities are underway, appropriate examinations have been ordered.

Further steps will be taken basing on their findings.
