SSU and National Police detain another six arsonists who carried out russia’s orders in northern and eastern Ukraine

The Security Service and the National Police have detained six accomplices of russian special services who were involved in arson attacks on energy facilities on Ukrainian railways and Armed Forces vehicles in several regions of Ukraine.

All those who carried out the enemy’s orders were recruited by the aggressor while looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram.

Instead of the promised money from russia, the arsonists received  notices of suspicion and are now in custody with the prospect of imprisonment.

In Kyiv region, a 25-year-old drug addict from Bucha district was apprehended for burning a railway signal relay box. He received this task from a serviceman of russia’s special operations forces.

Later, russians instructed the agent to blow up a local building of the Territorial Recruitment Center using an improvised explosive device.

The law enforcement acted preemptively and detained the perpetrator while he was preparing explosives to carry out the attack.

In Dnipro, another accomplice of the occupiers was apprehended. He turned out to be a 31-year-old displaced person from Kramatorsk who burned a relay cabinet near a local Ukrzaliznytsia station.

In Zhytomyr region, three residents of Berdychiv aged 18 and 20 were detained for setting fire to two relay cabinets and two off-road vehicles belonging to the AFU. The damaged vehicles were undergoing technical inspection after combat missions on the front line.

Later, the group received a new order from russia to burn down a post office. However, they did not manage to do so because they were detained at their homes.

In Chernihiv region, a local repeat offender was exposed who, on ruscists’ orders, travelled to Kyiv region and burned down a relay cabinet in Boryspil district.

Telephones, flammable mixtures and other evidence of sabotage activities against Ukraine found during searches of the suspects’ homes.

The detained individuals were notified of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 113.2 (sabotage, committed under martial law);
  • 114-1.1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU, during a special period).

The suspects face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operations were carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Offices.
