SSU and National Police detain another ten organizers of mobilization evasion schemes in western, central, and southern regions of Ukraine

The Security Service and the National Police have shut down another seven new schemes for evading mobilization.

10 organizers who sold fictitious documents to draft dodgers or illegally transported them abroad have been detained. The cost of the ‘services’ ranged from USD 2,000 to 12,000.

In Odesa region, the law enforcement dismantled four schemes. Among those involved were six local residents who, for money, helped draft dodgers escape to Transnistria via green border.

Some of the organizers even dressed their ‘clients’ in military uniform to transport them to the border. Others were hidden in the trunks of cars.

A 27-year-old Odessa resident was detained for forging medical certificates with serious diagnoses for conscripts on his own computer.

In Cherkasy region, a 50-year-old administrator of a Telegram channel was exposed for spreading information about the routes and bases of mobile Territorial Recruitment Center groups in the region.

In Bukovyna, the SSU Military Counterintelligence detained two officials of a Chernivtsi TRC who drove conscripts to the border with the EU and then showed a route for illegal crossing through the woods.

In Ternopil, the SSU Military Counterintelligence apprehended an employee of a local utility company who was taking draft evaders off the wanted list. To do this, he used his connections in a Territorial Recruitment Center.

The detained individuals have been notified of suspicion under several Articles of the CCU, according to the offences committed:

  • 114-1.1 (obstruction of the AFU’s lawful activities);
  • 332.3 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border, committed upon prior conspiracy, by a group);
  • 369-2.3 (abuse of influence).

The suspects are in custody and face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operational and investigative actions were carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Offices.
