SSU and National Police expose Kyiv City State Administration official who ‘sold’ land permits
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have uncovered another criminal scheme involving staff of Kyiv City State Administration.
As a result of the operation, an official of the Inspection Control Directorate of the Land Resources Department of Kyiv City State Administration has been detained.
According to the investigation, he tried to ‘sell’ a permit for lease of a land plot in Kyiv.
The perpetrator demanded USD 15,000 from a local businessman who wanted to extend the lease agreement for a sports field for children. The field is currently used for football training by one of the youth sports schools in Desnianskyi district.
In exchange for the bribe, the official promised to ‘help’ to obtain land documentation from state and local authorities and then to approve a 10-year lease with the KCSA land department.
The SSU and the National Police documented the fact of extortion and apprehended the suspect red-handed when he was receiving the full amount of the bribe.
The detained individual has been notified of suspicion under Article 368.3 of the CCU (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official).
The decision on a measure of restraint is pending.
The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. The investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region jointly with the National Police investigators under the procedural supervision of Shevchenkivskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv.
