SSU names Kharkiv resident as suspect: she lured police into February 22 terrorist attack site
The Security Service and the National Police have notified the 18-year-old Kharkiv girl of suspicion: she lured police officers to the scene of a terrorist attack in Lviv on the night of February 22.
On her handler’s instructions, she called the hotline from Kharkiv and read a prepared text claiming she had seen two unknown individuals who had broken into a grocery store in Lviv.
When a police patrol arrived in response to the call, the russian intelligence services remotely detonated an improvised IED planted near the location.
After a second police crew and a National Guard foot patrol arrived at the scene, another explosion occurred.
It has been established that the Kharkiv accomplice came to the enemy’s attention in January this year, when she was seeking ‘easy money’ on Telegram.
She agreed to report the prepared false information to 112 emergency number and expected to receive USD 100 for this.
The person in question has been notified of suspicion under Article 383.2 of the CCU (knowingly false reporting of a criminal offence).
The Security Service and the National Police apprehended the executor of the terrorist attack within 10 hours after a series of explosions.
The investigation is ongoing to identify and bring to justice those involved in the crime.
The operational and investigative activities were carried out by the SSU Office in Lviv region together with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
The Security Service warns again: if you or people you know are being recruited by the enemy, or if you have any information about possible activities of russian intelligence services, please report it to the SSU:
