SSU jointly with Security and Defence Forces conduct repatriation of remains of Ukraine’s fallen defenders
As part of the latest repatriation efforts, the remains of 252 of Ukraine’s fallen defenders have been returned to the country.
This was made possible through the joint and coordinated efforts of the Joint Centre for the Coordination of Search and Liberation of Prisoners of War under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Coordination Headquarters, the AFU Central Directorate for Civil-Military Cooperation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as well as other components of Ukraine’s security and defence sector.
Every repatriation involves complex inter-agency work to ensure that Ukraine’s fallen defenders are returned home, giving their families the opportunity to bid a dignified farewell to their loved ones.
In the near future, investigators from law enforcement agencies, in conjunction with expert units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will carry out the necessary examinations to identify the remains.
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with other state bodies, continues the repartition efforts.
May Ukraine’s fallen defenders rest in peace!
